The ultimate business in a box demonstration. Having been crafting skincare products for 15 years, we’ve come up with a way to share our skill, passion, and expertise, not just on making soaps, a total skincare solution for you! Create a wonderful range of skincare products easily when you attend our group demonstrations. This is a fun way to learn to make soaps, lotions , serums, and scrubs. At each group demonstration (maximum of 4 attendees), there will be 4 products thoroughly demonstrated from start to finish. You will not make products, but will watch as I demonstrate and carefully take you through the different processes of crafting each product.
You will understand how each soap is crafted from scratch, what ingredients can be used to customise your different types of products. We will discuss different ingredients to make emulsions and you will get to understand how to add additives like hyaluronic acid to create functional creams/lotions. This demonstration workshop is perfect for those wanting to cover a bigger range of products than just soaps or lotions.
Class recipes will be provided to take home. THIS IS NOT A HANDS-ON WORKSHOP. Only class recipes will be provided to take home.

Cold Process Soapmaking Workshop – Natural Handmade Soap
This is a physical hands-on class that takes place at our studio in Cape Town, Montague Gardens.
Date:
Time: 10am – 2/3pm, depending on class size – max 6 people. (please note we may finish earlier or later depending on the group dynamics, please advise ahead of time if you will be pressed for time). Group classes of up to 6 people may be arranged for a Saturday.
Venue: Olive Handmade Soaps – Unit A3 Spearhead Business Park, Montague Gardens, Montague Drive.
Skill level: No prior experience is needed to join our class. We will teach you everything beginner to intermediate level – from mixing, choosing colours, scent, making, cutting and curing. If you want to start a business – we will be happy to discuss your questions.
Class size: We host a maximum of 6 people per allocated day to allow for maximum attention.
What will be provided: All soapmaking equipment, including safety gear, and ingredients will be provided. You will take the soap you make and leave behind all the other equipment and gear. You will be able to buy a soap making kit or raw ingredients at the end of the workshop for you to take home.
Refreshments: We will offer tea/coffee throughout the course – please feel free to bring your own substantial lunch.
You will take home:
– A soap-making workshop booklet, essential oil blending booklet and a recipe booklet.
– A batch of handmade soaps that you would have made, with retail value of R1050.
What to wear?
Please wear closed shoes and long sleeve t shirts. We will provide aprons and safety gear for the day.
In the workshop we will cover the following:
– What is soap
– Different types of soaps
– Methods of soapmaking
– Equipment and supplies needed
– Soap making oils and their properties
*PLEASE NOTE:
- Once payment has been made you will receive an email from us confirming your booking. Attendees do not receive a physical ticket.
- Bookings are not refundable. If you are unable to attend you are welcome to gift the ticket to a friend. We reserve the right to cancel the workshop at any time in which case we will issue refunds.
- We do not host workshops for children under 17 years of age
- Our workshops run from March to July.
You will soon be making your own natural soap at home, or even starting a small business with your new skill. Do not hesitate to contact us should you need more information.
Off-course you will take home the soap you make on the day (+- 15 bars of soap).
Please bring a towel, and wear a long-sleeve tops and closed shoes.
